About the role:

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the revenue and profit growth of programs and services in targeted accounts in NSW. With a consultative sales approach, you’ll build relationships with existing customers by understanding their key business drivers and executing system assurance programs. With strong account leadership, you’ll also convert strategic competitive accounts and sell new technologies to current customers across both water and hygiene sectors in the food & beverage market in the dairy, brewing, beverage, protein and food processing industries

You are a partner for both customers and colleagues. You understand the processes of the customer and are supported by the R&D and marketing colleagues; you will seek out the opportunity to offer innovative solutions. As a result, you can implement financial and/or operational result improvement at, and for, your customers.

You are constantly aware that your advice relates to essential production processes at the customer with a major impact on both the Total Cost of Ownership and the continuity of production.

Your responsibilities:

  • Management and development of long-standing client relationships, with a focus on exceeding client expectations and driving value-based outcomes and service execution

  • Deliver outstanding service coverage to customers which align with their Key Business Drivers 

  • Execute a sales, price and innovation plan for existing clients to deliver sales volume growth and drive profitability

  • Create, capture & communicate value through developing and managing innovative and continuous improvement projects to solve customer problems

  • Work in consultation with engineering teams to maintain equipment for water treatment, chemical dosing and control systems

  • Manage the delivery of projects to budget and time constraints and work with suppliers and contractors to develop quotes and delivery timeframes

Regional travel with overnight stays will be essential.

By nature, you will demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with both internal & external customers

  • Delivering a hands-on approach to service execution and value

  • The ability to work independently and remotely 

  • Excellent problem-solving aptitude

  • A tremendous will to succeed and continue your learning & development

Technically, you will ideally have:

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing ability

  • Sound mechanical reasoning

  • Be digital Savvy

  • Tertiary skills are advantageous but not essential.

  • Proven background in account management

  • Candidates with less experience but the right traits and competencies will be considered for the entry level sales role of District Representative

  • Driver’s license

Preferred background:

  • Ideally a tertiary qualification (chemical, mechanical, industrial) or similar.

  • Working knowledge or interest in water treatment systems will be an advantage but not essential.

  • A proven success in technical sales or field sales support experience.

  • Ability to interact effectively with others, including senior-level customers, including teach, coach and provide guidance and constructive feedback with tact and diplomacy.

  • Strong relationship building skills.

  • Open to travel with the occasional overnight stay.
