We have an exciting opportunity at nbn, as a Network Engineer reporting to the Network Manager NMC Core and Enterprise.
A bit about your role
The Network Management Centre (NMC) within C&NS ensures the availability of the nbn network to deliver exceptional customer experience and meet uptime targets. The Network Engineer role provides technical expertise and assurance for Enterprise Ethernet—nbn’s high-speed fibre product offering up to 10Gbps and 99.95% availability—supporting business and government customers with 24x7 service.
Responsibilities include managing outages, coordinating with external customers (e.g., enterprises and RSPs) and internal teams to meet strict restoration SLAs, while working an 8-hour daytime shift within a 12-hour window, Monday to Friday.
A bit about you
You have strong telecommunications network experience including nbn Aggregation, FTTn, FTTp, and HFC technologies. The ideal candidate has practical experience in Tier 2 level technical support or above, including incident management in a 24x7 NOC.
Key skills include high attention to detail, analytical problem-solving, negotiation, and excellent communication. Proficiency in MS Office, network incident management tools (Remedy, Netcool), and adherence to safety and compliance standards is essential. The role requires self-motivation, ability to work under pressure, and flexibility for shift or non-shift environments.
