The Role

As the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in delivering timely financial services to our stakeholders. Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Operational Finance Team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Ensuring accurate processes across Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Payroll, Budgeting, Forecasting, Financial Compliance, and Reporting.
  • Overseeing financial records to guarantee accuracy in AP, AR, and payroll.
  • Managing the month-end process, general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L statements.
  • Preparing timely financial statements and tax submissions (BAS, FBT, ITR) while liaising with our internal tax specialist.
  • Ensuring transaction recording, general ledger reconciliations, and robust month-end processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring cash flow to ensure liquidity and financial stability.
  • Developing strategies to optimise working capital.
  • Providing financial insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Leading the annual budgeting process and quarterly reforecasting.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance operational processes.
  • Implementing cost control measures and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Streamlining financial workflows and reporting to enhance accuracy.
  • Supporting the rollout of new finance systems.
  • Identifying financial risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Developing vendor management processes to optimise outcomes.

About you

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in accounting and finance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred.
  • Strong preference for experience in the Professional Services industry (Accounting or Legal).
  • Proven experience in a finance leadership role with a focus on operational finance.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills; knowledge of Xero and/or MYOB preferred.
  • Experience with new systems implementation is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and inspire a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to quality service and client relationships.
