You will also be expected to take on areas of deeper accounting judgments, estimates, and complexity.

The Group Finance Manager will be required to support the Corporate Reporting Manager at half-year and year-end, to ensure timely and accurate Statutory reporting. This includes taking on more complex accounting notes and disclosures, liaising with external auditors and subsidiary accounts reviews. In addition, the Group Finance Manager will work closely with the FP&A team to analyse results against budgets and forecasts and work with the key business stakeholders to manage costs.

  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial accounting processes across the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Fixed Assets.
  • Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures including reconciliations and consolidations.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial results and analysis to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Financial Control & Compliance
  • Manage, review, and improve processes and procedures including associated policies.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to manage costs, cash flow, investments, and financial risk in the business.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls.
  • Liaise with external auditors, manage yearly insurance renewals and ensure all statutory compliance requirements are met.
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance team skills, focusing on areas such as financial reporting, compliance, and analysis.
  • Ad-hoc Project Work
  • Collaborate with the Financial Systems team to improve the ERP system and data collection and presentation.
  • Conduct projects and analyses as required by senior management, providing actionable recommendations based on findings to inform decision-making and strategic direction.

What We Are Looking For

  • A degree in a business-related discipline and accreditation with CA/CPA or equivalent is essential.
  • Previous exposure to a Group Finance role in a listed, global business or a managerial role within a Big 4 or Mid-tier auditing firm.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver clear accounting and reporting advice within the finance team as well as non-finance teams.
  • Ability to work within a team and independently to resolve complicated accounting and financial reporting issues.
  • Ability to research and provide relevant technical guidance to solve complex accounting problems.
  • Process improvement mindset with a clear focus on improving accounting processes and uplifting financial reporting through the Group, both within half-year/year-end and through the year.
  • Focus on collaboration and bringing both the Corporate Reporting Team and Management Reporting Team together to solve difficult financial accounting and reporting problems.
  • The ability to grasp complex issues and communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality financial reporting, which provides high confidence and quality insights to management.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop own technical knowledge and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong analytical mindset with a meticulous eye for detail, whilst still being able to see the longer strategic vision for the Group.
