As a Lead Android Engineer at Bilue, you’ll set the bar for technical excellence and craft within our mobile practice. You’ll guide a team of engineers to deliver fast, reliable and beautifully designed Android experiences that people genuinely love to use.

You’ll partner closely with clients and product teams to shape technical direction, define best practices, and ensure our Android solutions don’t just meet requirements, they raise the standard for quality and performance. Your leadership will help bring clarity, confidence, and creativity to every phase of delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of robust, high-performance Android applications
• Define the technical approach, architecture, and roadmap for Android projects
• Mentor and support engineers through code reviews, pairing, and career development
• Collaborate with clients to shape product vision into scalable technical solutions
• Ensure seamless integration with APIs, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelines
• Drive continuous improvement in performance, reliability, and code quality
• Champion modern Android frameworks, tools, and architectural patterns
• Actively contribute to Bilue’s mobile community, sharing knowledge and driving innovation across teams

You’re a seasoned Android Engineer with 8+ years’ experience delivering exceptional mobile products at scale. You’re not just hands-on, you’re a technical leader who sets the standard for quality, performance and craft across every Android project you touch.

You have a deep understanding of modern Android architecture, clean code practices and design systems, and you know how to guide others to apply them well. You thrive in a collaborative, agile environment, balancing hands-on development with mentoring, technical decision-making and client engagement.

You lead with empathy, communicate with clarity, and bring a calm confidence that helps your team deliver work that’s as robust as it is delightful to use.

• Proven experience leading Android delivery across large-scale, production apps
• Deep expertise in Kotlin, with strong architectural skills (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture)
• Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, Hilt/Dagger, Room, WorkManager, and Navigation Component
• Strong understanding of app performance, concurrency, and offline resilience
• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs, GraphQL and cloud services (Firebase, AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Fastlane) and release management (Play Console)
• Commitment to code quality through reviews, testing (unit, UI, snapshot) and automation
• An agile mindset, able to guide teams through estimation, sprint planning and continuous improvement
• Experience coaching engineers and uplifting team capability
• Active engagement with the Android community (open source, conferences, meetups)
• A passion for craft, leadership, and building apps that people genuinely love to use
