Job Description

Join TAL’s Individual Life Product Development team and help shape the future of our life insurance products. You’ll play a key role in designing, improving, and delivering products that protect what matters most to Australians. Working alongside experts across pricing, legal, risk, distribution, and operations, you’ll lead projects that drive real change and innovation.

We’re looking for someone with a can-do attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the confidence to manage complex projects from concept to delivery. In return, you’ll enjoy a supportive culture that values growth, flexibility, and innovation.

This will be a 12 month fixed-term contract based in our Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week.

In this role you will: 

  • Lead and support key product development initiatives that improve TAL’s Individual Life product suite, ensuring alignment with business strategy and evolving customer needs.
  • Manage the full product change lifecycle - from design and documentation to implementation, launch, and ongoing optimisation.
  • Drive change management activities, including updates to Product Disclosure Statements, training materials, and internal communications.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across pricing, legal, risk & compliance, health services, distribution, and operations to deliver compliant, customer-focused product solutions.
  • Oversee governance activities, developing product specifications, business requirements, and operational rules that support product delivery.
  • Provide expert advice on product and technical matters to stakeholders across the business.
  • Support the identification and escalation of risk and compliance matters, contributing to a strong risk culture.
  • Stay across regulatory developments and provide practical guidance to help the business manage key risks effectively.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in product management or development within life insurance, financial services, or a related field.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, you can navigate complex conversations with confidence and clarity.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking, with the ability to translate ideas into practical outcomes.
  • A proactive and resilient mindset you stay motivated and solution-focused when challenges arise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing product documentation and communication materials.
