Job DescriptionJoin TAL as a Senior Analyst - Data Management & Reconciliation and play a pivotal role in strengthening our regulatory data capability.
In this role, you’ll ensure the integrity of data used in regulatory submissions and internal reporting by validating and reconciling information across systems. Your work will be critical in meeting our compliance obligations and supporting confident decision-making.
We’re looking for someone who combines technical expertise with curiosity and storytelling skills. You’ll dive deep into data to uncover insights, explain variances, and translate complex outcomes into clear, actionable narratives for business stakeholders.
Beyond analysis, you’ll help uplift TAL’s enterprise data management practices - driving improvements in metadata management, data quality, and master/reference data to build strong, scalable foundations for the future.
In this role you will:
- Validate and reconcile Policy, Claims, and Disputes data in collaboration with the regulatory production, actuarial, and finance teams to ensure accuracy and consistency across reporting processes.
- Identify manual data processes and develop, enhance, and maintain automated workflows, scripts, and data pipelines using SQL, Python, VBA, or other relevant tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Support the delivery of high quality regulatory and internal reporting, including ASIC and APRA returns and submissions to other industry bodies.
- Document data processes, lineage, and reconciliation logic for transparency and audit readiness.
- Maintain and enhance the business glossary, ensuring data elements are clearly defined, owned, and aligned across business functions.
- Document and maintain data processes, lineage, and reconciliation logic to uplift TAL’s metadata, data quality, and master/reference data practices.
- 3+ years experience working in data focused roles, with exposure across data management, analytics, or regulatory reporting environment.
- Strong experience with SQL for querying, validation, and reconciliation across multiple data sources.
- Exposure to scripting or automation tools (e.g. Python, R, VBA, Alteryx, Power Automate)
- Prior experience in regulatory reporting, Life Insurance data, or other Financial Services data environments preferred.
