YOUR ROLE:

RAPP is seeking a Senior Copywriter who brings strong conceptual thinking, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to lead projects from ideation through execution. In this role, you will craft compelling copy across multiple platforms, mentor junior writers, and collaborate closely with art directors, designers, and other team members to deliver impactful, results-driven creative work. You will set the tone for high-quality writing and push boundaries to elevate creative excellence.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Comprehension: Thoughtfully question briefs and help refine objectives with an informed understanding of the client’s needs.
  • Ideation: Lead brainstorming sessions and inspire fresh, unexpected ideas while maintaining inclusivity in your creative thinking.
  • Craft & Execution: Consistently deliver polished, engaging copy that aligns with brand voice and campaign goals.
  • Iteration & Elevation: Develop multiple creative solutions to challenges and refine your work to exceed expectations.
  • Directing & Managing: Manage your workflow effectively while mentoring junior writers and guiding them through the creative process.
  • Storytelling & Selling: Confidently present your ideas and copy to internal teams and clients, articulating the rationale behind your creative decisions.
  • Business Contribution: Approach creative challenges with a strategic mindset, ensuring copy is not only creative but also drives business results.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write engaging, impactful copy for a variety of platforms, including digital, social, print, email, and more.
  • Lead the development of concepts and messaging that align with client objectives and resonate with target audiences.
  • Adapt your tone and voice to reflect diverse brand guidelines and campaign goals.
  • Collaborate with art directors, designers, and strategists to ensure cohesive and effective creative solutions.
  • Mentor junior copywriters, providing constructive feedback to develop their skills and confidence.
  • Present work clearly and persuasively to internal teams and clients, incorporating feedback to refine the final product.
  • Stay current with writing and marketing trends, applying them to enhance your creative output.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing deadlines and priorities without compromising quality.

SUCCESS CRITERIA

  • Delivery of high-quality, strategically aligned copy that meets or exceeds client expectations.
  • Clear and effective communication with team members and clients, fostering collaboration and trust.
  • Consistent mentorship and support for junior writers, contributing to their growth and development.
  • Proactive exploration of copywriting trends and tools, incorporating them into creative solutions.
  • Efficient management of deliverables, ensuring work is on time, on brief, and on brand.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience: 5+ years of copywriting experience, with a portfolio showcasing produced work across digital, print, and social media.
  • Writing Craft: Mastery of tone, voice, and storytelling, with the ability to adapt to different brands and audiences.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
    • Familiarity with Google Workspace.
    • Experience with Figma, Keynote, and Adobe Acrobat is a bonus.
    • Curiosity about experimenting with AI tools and emerging copywriting technologies.
  • Leadership: Ability to mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity.
  • Communication: Confident and persuasive presentation skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly to clients and internal teams.
  • Adaptability: Thrive under pressure, manage competing priorities, and deliver exceptional work in a fast-paced environment.

Our Hybrid Work Model:

RAPP's current hybrid model is designed to enable in-person connections and collaboration that is core to our culture, while also supporting flexibility for all employees. As such, we have the option to work from home two days per week, if we'd like.

RAPP provides a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits plan. For more information regarding Omnicom benefits, please visit www.omnicombenefits.com. A reasonable estimate of the salary for this role, at the time of posting, is $74,000 - $82,000. This range is specific to Detroit and multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill set, experience and training, certifications; etc. This is an exempt position.
