Block, a technology company offering financial service products, announced its new office in Sydney’s Tech Central precinct. This move marks the company’s second flagship office in Australia, alongside its existing presence in Melbourne.
Block’s newest office occupies three levels of the Brewery Yard in Chippendale. The facility is designed to be a collaborative space for employees and partners. It includes ergonomic desks, informal work areas and a variety of specialized rooms such as a large event area, training rooms and a reflection and meditation room.
The transformation of the Brewery Yard into Block’s new office is a blend of modern design and historical preservation. Key architectural elements from the original brewery have been preserved and incorporated into the design, and local graffiti artists have contributed artworks that link the building’s historical significance to Block’s mission of economic empowerment.
The office unites teams from across Block’s ecosystem, such as Afterpay, Square, Cash App and TIDAL, to create a central hub that supports diverse work styles and needs. The office is also sustainable, using resources like the low-carbon natural gas power plant at Central Park and locally sourced furnishings.
