New Jersey-based GenScript is opening an operations site and logistics center in Sydney. The move is expected to support growth in the Australian biotechnology sector and bolster the company’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region, according to a statement from the company.

GenScript works to deliver gene synthesis technologies with manufacturing as well as research and development applications for the life sciences industry on a global scale. The company expects its Australian expansion to improve customer service in the region.

The new Sydney hub will be able to offer next-day shipping for some of GenScript’s most high-demand products, according to the release. The company says it will also help streamline procurement for local customers in the biotech space by eliminating obstacles such as customs clearance.

“This new facility strengthens our connection to local researchers and companies, enabling us to better understand their unique needs and challenges,” GenScript Asia Pacific President Dr. Janice Jin said in the release.
