Nift, a technology company focused on supporting consumer platforms, has named seasoned advertising and data technology executive John McNerney as general manager for the Asia-Pacific region.

McNerney most recently led business and technology strategy in Australia and Southeast Asia as Yahoo’s AUSEA managing director. In his new role, McNerney will work out of Sydney and report to Saket Mehta, Nift’s chief revenue officer.

Nift’s solutions help consumer platforms drive growth across revenue, brand sentiment and loyalty by enabling them to offer thank-you gifts at various touchpoints throughout the digital journey. Bringing over 15 years of international experience that encompasses SaaS, data and advertising technology, McNerney is expected to lead the company’s APAC expansion, which comes on the tail of its recent U.K. launch.

“The open web is undergoing a fundamental transformation as AI shifts consumer behaviour from search to discovery,” McNerney said in a statement. “Nift is at the heart of this evolution, helping commerce partners drive deeper loyalty and brand affinity by delivering personalized value as Nift sits at the intersection of commerce, data and experience. Australia is a natural launch market for Nift, and I’m excited to build our presence here as we expand across the broader APAC region.”
