2027 RBA Payments Settlements Graduate Program - Business Analyst Specialisation
The 2027 Payments Settlements Graduate Program with the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is a two-year program that provides comprehensive training and development designed to progress your career.
Our Graduates contribute to the RBA’s management and operation of critical financial infrastructure for the Australian economy.
You'll be part of the core RBA Graduate Program and complete a structured training program alongside graduates across the Bank, while gaining dedicated Payments Settlements training and development.
Our Graduates contribute to the RBA’s management and operation of critical financial infrastructure for the Australian economy. The role of the Payments Settlements Business Analyst Graduate at the RBA is varied and challenging with a key focus on the delivery of high-quality business and functional specification documents for enhancements to RITS and other payment systems.
You will be working as part of an integrated team of developers, testers, operations specialists and business staff. You will be involved in a diverse range of projects developing skills and experience in the design and implementation of business solutions.
You will be supported by experienced senior business analysts and payment experts to develop skills and experience that will help you achieve your career ambition.
From day one, you will get the opportunity to:
Undertake the analysis of current business processes to identify improvements and efficiencies
Work on projects which deliver improvements to the nationally critical payment infrastructure.
Liaise and collaborate with other departments of the RBA and external institutions on a diverse range of matters and develop detailed understanding of the business requirements.
Create detailed business requirements and contribute to the successful project delivery of key business initiatives.
Communicate complex business and technical information to a diverse range of stakeholders
Work closely with the experts in our information technology department to ensure they design, develop and implement improvements to the settlement services & technologies that meet business needs.
We're looking for dynamic, motivated graduates who are interested in learning about the critical role of the central bank in operating payments systems – enabling the flow of money in the economy.
Selection Criteria
Candidates should have completed their degree within the past 18 months or be in their final year of study, demonstrating strong academic performance.
We are seeking candidates with degrees in: Business information systems, economics, commerce, finance, business or information technology.
Demonstrated problem-solving ability, including strong critical thinking and excellent communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in team environments.
Exposure to business analysis and/or project management through academic coursework, internships, work integrated learning or volunteer experience.
An understanding of Australia’s payments systems landscape.
Applicants must be Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents, or New Zealand citizens at the time of application.

First interviews will be conducted virtually
The second and final interview will be virtual for interstate and regional candidates and in person for candidates located in Sydney.
