ING Australia are looking to hire a risk manager to join our Non-Financial Risk Management team which is a second line of defence team responsible for developing and managing the NFR framework and associated policies, whilst challenging and advising on its implementation and the risk exposures across the business.

The Business-aligned Monitoring & Assurance team has the mandate of advising and challenging the business with its implementation of the NFR framework, aligned to Retail Banking business and support functions such as HR, Finance, Risk, Tax & Cosec/Legal.

This role is an expert within the second line of defence, acting as a trusted advisor in the implementation of the NFR framework and other applicable frameworks. You will have a broad range of risk expertise to cover all relevant classes of non-financial risk and deep expertise in the framework to support, guide and provide advice to aligned business units including Retail Banking, support function you will also perform assurance review over key focus areas within the aligned businesses

What you’ll do

  • Provide expert advice and assurance on the implementation of the Non-financial Risk Management framework, and associated policies, procedures and control standards
  • Assist the Lead of BMA and Head of NFR in the overall and ongoing development, embedding and management of non-financial risk management and its associated frameworks across the business
  • Contribute towards training and knowledge sharing across teams on various risk topics
  • Contribute to NFR reporting

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Risk management or Financial Services, within the 3 lines of defence.
  • At least 5 years experience in Risk, Compliance and/or Audit background
  • Strong and broad understanding of NFR risks including the frameworks and in practice
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory compliance and prudential compliance requirements of an ADI including APS 114, 115, CPS 230and SOX
  • Understanding of the business drivers and the strategic direction of the Bank and role of risk management in achieving objectives
  • Awareness of current industry threats, trends and issues that potentially affect the Bank's business, e.g. cyber threat trends, etc.
  • Strong MS Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
