Surfline launched Surfline Coastal Intelligence in 2025, expanding our capabilities into the enterprise data market. This advanced solution delivers continuous, cost-effective AI monitoring of local coastlines – empowering communities, lifeguards, and government agencies to make smarter, data-driven decisions for safety, operations, and coastal resource protection. Built on Surfline’s decades of ocean-monitoring expertise, our team is shaping the future of coastal management.

We are seeking a driven Account Executive to lead our expansion across Australia and New Zealand. The ideal candidate brings a successful track record in B2G and/or B2B sales within the region, with familiarity navigating councils, coastal authorities, and public-sector procurement. You’ll build the ANZ market from the ground up – owning prospecting, relationship development, proposal creation, and deal closure. As our first dedicated sales hire in the region, you will help define our go-to-market strategy, establish our presence, and drive meaningful revenue growth.

Under Surfline’s “Work from Anywhere” policy, this position may be performed on a full-time remote basis from New South Wales or Queensland, Australia.

What You'll Do:
  • Identify, pursue, and close opportunities with municipal, state, and regional organizations across Australia, New Zealand, and surrounding territories.
  • Own the full sales cycle – from prospecting and outreach to negotiation and signature.
  • Lead cold outreach programs to generate new leads, build pipeline, and expand market reach.
  • Develop account strategies and collaborate with product and marketing to shape a customer-informed roadmap.
  • Navigate and negotiate government contracts, ensuring favorable terms, compliance, and timely issue resolution.
  • Monitor account health to reduce renewal risk, identify expansion opportunities, and drive upsell initiatives.
  • Represent Surfline Coastal Intelligence at industry events and trade shows to build brand visibility and source high-quality leads.
  • Contribute to a culture of planning, execution, and accountability across the Surfline Coastal Intelligence team.
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business or a related field.
  • 4+ years of enterprise sales experience, including 2+ years in B2G or B2B roles with technical products.
  • Proven history of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with prospecting and managing senior-level relationships.
  • Excitement about being the first sales hire in the region and building a new segment of the Surfline business.
  • Comfort operating independently within a lean, fast-moving team.
  • Proficiency with CRM and sales tools (HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo, LeadIQ, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings, demos, and industry events.
You May Also Have:
  • Knowledge of the coastal safety or coastal resiliency space.
  • Interest in cutting-edge technologies, particularly machine learning applications.
  • Understanding of oceanography, coastal science, or coastal engineering.
  • A personal passion for the ocean and/or surfing.
