The Role

We’re looking for an Accountant to join our Finance team in Sydney. You’ll be a proactive self-starter, comfortable working independently while also working closely with Finance and Middle Office to deliver team outcomes. As we grow into new offices, strategies and markets, there’s lots of opportunity to expand your skills and gain exposure to international accounting within the trading industry.

What you’ll do
  • Assist with the month-end close 
  • Work with Middle Office to support the reporting of internal trading information
  • Maintain complete and accurate accounting records, including General Ledger reporting
  • Reconcile the balance sheet and profit and loss accounts, following up on discrepancies
  • Maintain accounts payable, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and sufficient cash held in bank accounts
  • Assist with financial audits
  • Collaborate with Finance and Middle Office to drive practical improvements across the business, including process automation
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
  • CPA or CA qualified (or progressing), with 4+ years’ accounting experience
  • Preferable Big Four trained
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and solid MS Office capability
  • Comfortable working independently, with strong communication and analytical skills
  • Able to multitask and prioritise to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to accurate account preparation
  • Public accounting or trading industry experience is a plus
