Job Description
Purpose of the role:
The role will be responsible for the delivery of high quality timely financial accounting and reporting for assigned the Brookfield Manager Group (Including private equity, renewables and other relevant entities). This includes preparation of month end/quarter end/year end journals and close for assigned entities, monthly BAS preparation and lodgement, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, raising invoices and cash receipting, coding and sending supplier invoices for payment, preparation of funding transfer paperwork, ABS surveys, preparation of cashflow forecasts and preparation of reliable, succinct, and timely answers to management in relation to ad-hoc queries for these assigned responsibilities in addition to the budget and forecast process for certain entities.
The role will assist in special projects and ad hoc work as required including process improvement initiatives, formulate step plans to capitalize intercompany loan positions, draft company secretarial forms and obtain approvals from tax, legal, finance and company secretarial, assistance with year-end audit and tax queries, clearing intercompany loan mismatches, support with aspects of financial reports and backfilling for other roles during temporary absences.

Responsible for:
Financial

Maintenance of general ledgers and operational activities for assigned legal entities.

Preparation of month end and quarter end close for legal entities and reporting.

Preparation of BAS calculations.
-
Preparation of month end bank reconciliations.
-
Preparation of monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
-
Preparation of cashflow forecasts.
-
Collaborate with the broader team in accounting for intercompany and related party transactions.
-
Preparation of ABS surveys.
-
Ensure compliance with SOX and other controls in day-to-day operations.

Investigate and clean up historical and unreconciled items in the trial balances. This includes proposing appropriate accounting treatment (including drafting accounting memos if required).

Assist on the legal entity rationalisation project.

Other ad hoc work and special projects as required including accounting position papers, corporate simplification projects, assistance with annual year-end audit including potential to support with financial statement preparation and tax queries, structure set up and management clearing intercompany loan mismatches, support with aspects of financial reports and backfilling for other roles during temporary absences.

Qualifications/ Experience/Skills

CA / CPA qualified preferred

Preparation of month end accounting, reconciliations, reporting and variance analysis

Advanced computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications

Exposure with financial accounting and analysing financial statements

Experience with communicating with senior management and a variety of stakeholders
