Overview of the Role:
The role of the Accounting Analyst is to support the Senior Financial Accountants with month end and quarter end close procedures, year-end procedures and related audit/regulatory reporting and all other aspects of financial reporting for the RGA Australian and NZ business and entities (ANZ business).
Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Financial Reporting
Completion of month end, quarter end and year end financial accounting close procedures for ANZ operations.
Preparation of month end account reconciliations / reports.
Review and comment on variance analysis for monthly financial reporting.
Maintenance of the fixed asset register, calculation and processing of depreciation and completion of reconciliations to the balance sheet.
Preparation of journal, accruals and bank reconciliations
Assist in the completion of BAS and NZ GST returns
Completion of quarterly and annual ABS surveys
Support the Senior Financial Accountants as required with the budgeting and forecasting process and production of the annual Expense Study report for Life Reinsurance business.
Treasury and Accounts Payable
Monitor and maintain the cashflow and anticipate cash flow requirements
Liaison and co-ordination of the accounts payable function with the regional processing centre based in Hong Kong (HK AP).
Requirements:
The person will need to have a degree in either Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field and is completing a professional accounting qualification (CPA or CA).
At least 1 year of relevant working experience.
Well organised and can organise around deadlines or competing priorities
A highly motivated individual who has a pro-active work approach and be able to effectively prioritise and make things happen. ‘Can do’ attitude.
The person will be able to work harmoniously within the team environment and be able to communicate with a wide range of audiences.
A clear communicator, with good presentation and PC skills
Advanced Excel skills
