What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
This role is for a mid-senior public accounting professional with developed leadership skills for small to medium teams, who is looking for career growth, requiring critical judgment and capacity to advise on significant accounting matters as well as demonstrated business acumen working for a multinational company operating under USGAAP and IFRS guidance to join our South America regional finance team.
This person should serve as a resource to his/her team on technical guidance to manage processes and procedures, while independently driving operational efficiency through robust financial and accounting management.
Is expected for this Accounting Supervisor to possess advanced understanding of financial statements, ensuring impact awareness on overall results and identifying opportunities to improve financial metrics via cost reduction or profit-enhancing strategic changes.
This professional should work autonomously in fast-paced environments, effectively prioritizing, problem-solving, and completing ambiguous assignments, focusing on continuous improvement to deliver efficient, high-quality corporate and statutory reporting while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Our Senior Accounting Supervisor should work independently on driving team results and performance, aligned with leadership strategy and company policies under general management guidance.
This position should impact our organization by demonstrating strong teamwork and collaboration across finance and operations to achieve results, and being able to develop innovative solutions to business problems through data analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
  • People Management and Communication
    • Supervise and support Argentina and Brazil teams (6 contributor individuals)
    • Set direction and clear goals for the team
    • Provide candid and timely feedback to the team
    • Have professional development discussions with the team
    • Facilitate the communication between business areas, GBS and Finance teams
  • Review and approve reports and activities performed by the team:
    • BSR Deck
    • MEC Deck
    • Journal entries and account reconciliations
    • Unusual / Significant Transactions
    • Balance Sheet Variance Analysis
    • Monthly & Quarterly CMS Requests: Edit Checks, Passed Entries (OPA/ SOPA), Guarantees, Legal Loss, Transactions with NCA, Operating Lease and Rent Expense, Restructuring, VIE, Debt Template, Marketable Securities, NCI Ownership Confirmation, Special Items
  • Statutory Audit Reports
    • Facilitate the communication between GM teams with EY
    • Support auditor on its information requests
    • Argentina and Brazil Statutory Report review
    • Coordinate with FP&A and perform the Impairment Analysis for local GAAP
  • Coordinate with Intercompany team to clear all imbalances during the closing
  • Support the team to report information to local governments in Argentina and Brazil (SPED, DIME, IBGE, IGJ, among others)

Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Accounting Sciences
  • Active CRC (especially in Brazil)
  • English from intermediate level
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP
  • Experience in the accounting area.

What Can Give You A Competitive Edge (Preference Qualifications)
  • From candidates in Brazil, Spanish is a plus
  • From candidates in Argentina, Portuguese is a plus
  • Experiencie with Power BI or Knime
  • Experience in the automotive industry
  • Leadership experience (especially leading people from other countries)
