This role will support our Medical Inventory Accounting team.
This role is ideal for someone willing to dig into the details and is naturally curious to research transaction level data from production to warehouse to customer sale. This Medical Inventory Supervisor is responsible for inventory valuation and reconciliation for a variety of domestic and global Medical Segment businesses. This includes preparing or reviewing a wide range of inventory reconciliations and inventory reserves and performing special projects and financial analysis to support the business needs as requested. In fulfilling these functions, this role has the opportunity to work with local finance and inventory business partners in the US, EMEA, APAC and LATAM regions.

Responsibilities

Is sensitive to the perspective and organizational culture of both Cardinal Health and the outsourced service provider.
- Is adept at identifying and responding to internal control and financial statement risk. Effectively responds to and mitigates risk and concludes on the effectiveness of related mitigation efforts.
- Has a level of understanding of digital tools to identify use cases and to support the design, development, and implementation of related solutions. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience preferred
- CPA preferred
- SAP experience preferred
- Advanced data analytics skills preferred
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
What is expected of you and others at this level?
- Assists in the management of the monthly financial close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and performing timely review of results for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP.
- Responsible for inventory valuation for a variety of domestic and global Medical Segment businesses, including preparing or reviewing a wide range of inventory reconciliations and standard or non-standard inventory reserve calculations.
- Oversees work conducted by outsourced staff and maintains the integrity of accounting records by ensuring outsourced staff comply with accounting policies and procedures.
- Performs regular review of accounting processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement to ensure accurate, timely and efficient processing under an appropriate control environment.
- Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives.
- Performs special projects and financial analysis to support the business needs as requested.
- Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of operations or business staff
- Administers and exercises policies and procedures. Ensures employees operate within guidelines.
- Decisions have a direct impact to work unit operations and customers
- Frequently interacts with subordinates, customers, and peer groups at various management levels
- Interactions normally involve information exchange and basic problem resolution
