WHO WE ARE
Founded in 2013 as Scape Australia, leaders in student housing, we’ve since grown into a vertically integrated living platform known as The Living Company; managing $18B in assets across Student Living (Scape), Rent to Live – Affordable Housing (RTL Co.), and Retirement Living (Aveo); spanning site origination, investment, planning, design, development, construction, and operations.

The Living Company is reshaping the way Australians live by delivering sustainable, community-driven, and high-quality spaces across the country.

THE ROLE
As Accounts Receivable Officer, you’ll be a key player in keeping rent flowing smoothly for our residents across The Living Company’s properties. You’ll process rent and manage resident bonds, while helping us improve our reporting and internal controls along the way.

This is a hands-on finance role with plenty of variety: working directly with on-site teams and our leasing team, running payment cycles, and turning the numbers into insights for site managers and the finance team.

Day-to-day you will be (but not limited to):

  • Managing resident billing, bond payments, refunds and other payments, including fortnightly direct debit runs
  • Maintaining the accounts receivable sub-ledger across all properties, ensuring payments are recorded in StarRez and revenue is recognised in NetSuite
  • Working with on-site and leasing teams to make sure outstanding rent is collected in a timely way
  • Performing daily bank reconciliations, and monitoring charge backs and suspicious refunds
  • Managing resident tenancy bonds, including remittance to the Rental Bonds Board
  • Preparing AR ageing, revenue and variance reporting, and contributing to continuous improvement projects

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
  • 2+ years’ finance experience in the hotel, hospitality or student accommodation sector
  • Familiarity with general ledger systems, and high proficiency in MS Excel
  • Strong customer service skills, with excellent written and verbal communication
  • A detail-oriented, organised self-starter who proactively spots problems and fixes them, and is confident to question when something doesn’t look right
  • Dependable, enthusiastic and a great team player
  • Experience with NetSuite, a room booking system such as StarRez or PEX, or the bond lodgement process will be highly regarded

WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN?

  • Be part of a purpose-led organisation shaping how Australians live
  • Exposure to a large, diversified living platform with real scale and complexity
  • Strong focus on wellbeing, growth, and inclusive culture
  • Competitive rewards, recognition programs, and lifestyle benefits
