The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a curious and innovative early‑career actuary to join our Actuarial Modelling and Insights team. You'll help shape how actuarial reporting and insights are delivered at QBE. This role offers variety and the opportunity to connect across our actuarial teams. You’ll work on forward‑looking, project‑based initiatives that challenge traditional approaches and drive meaningful change.

Your new role
You’ll play a hands‑on role in transformation projects, contributing to the evolution of reserving models, reporting, and planning processes. As part of a collaborative and future‑focused team, you’ll help introduce new ways of working, including the use of modern, cloud‑based reporting tools, while building a strong foundation for your actuarial career.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and build a strong understanding of Psicle, QBE’s reserving tool, to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of actuarial reserving models.
- Actively contribute to process improvement initiatives and support the QBE Actuarial modernisation journey through automation, standardisation, and improved controls.
- Assist in the development of reports and Power BI dashboards using data bricks, QBE’s enterprise data and reporting platform, to generate timely and actionable insights.
- Support the preparation and delivery of regulatory and statutory reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to governance requirements.
- Participate in ad hoc projects and analyses across the Actuarial team, providing analytical support as required.

About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Mathematics, Science, Data Science, Business, Actuarial Studies, or Computer Science.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a mindset of improving processes.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- A willingness to learn and develop within a dynamic actuarial function.
- Proficiency in Excel and while not essential, familiarity with SQL, Databricks, Power BI, or Psicle would be advantageous.
- Some experience in General Insurance (preferred).
