The Opportunity

Are you a proactive and passionate learner ready to make your mark in the actuarial space? Resolution Life Australasia is looking for an exceptional graduate or recent leaver to join our Valuation team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to financial reporting and risk insights while developing your skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
 

In this role, you’ll support the delivery of policy liabilities, statutory reporting inputs, and financial condition investigations. You’ll help enhance actuarial valuation processes and contribute to strengthening risk management and internal controls. Your assertiveness, strong communication skills, and ability to manage competing priorities will be key to delivering high-quality outcomes.

How will you make an impact?

  • Assist with the delivery of policy liabilities, inputs to Statutory / Life Act reports, financial condition investigations and profit analysis.

  • Support delivery of robust financial / risk information and strategic insights to the business.

  • Maintenance and enhancement of Actuarial valuation processes considering speed, quality, consistency and ensuring they meet accounting standards and business requirements.

  • Support strengthening the areas of risk management and internal controls within the Actuarial function, including documentation of processes and enhancements.

  • Highly motivated individual with curiosity and the drive for continuous self-improvement.

  • Critical thinker with the ability to understand complex concepts & issues quickly.

  • Effective problem solver with abilities to be adaptive & flexible in finding efficient solutions to problems.

  • Ability to effectively and concisely communicate.

  • Strong stakeholder and time management skills to deliver competing priorities.

  • A desire to be part of, and an ability to successfully perform in, a fast paced, dynamic business environment.
     

About you

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following:

  • An understanding of (or willingness to learn) actuarial principles, standards, processes and operations.

  • Strong technical skills and the ability to develop logical solutions to problems.

  • Skilled in the use of models and analysis of results.

  • Can apply appropriate principles and techniques in model building, including understanding the requirements for (and undertaking) relevant UAT.

  • Proven ability to work proactively with a strong use of initiative.

  • Technical capability / knowledge of Australian and New Zealand actuarial financial reporting and capital standards and economic valuation practice is advantageous, but not required.

  • Actuarial modelling (including Prophet) and Microsoft Excel Skills, Python are advantageous, but not required.
