Job Description

This role is primarily responsible for providing hands-on support to the Chief Actuary of Dai-ichi Life Reinsurance Bermuda. You will work closely with the Chief Actuary and other members of Dai-ichi Life Reinsurance Bermuda and Dai-ichi Life Holdings to initiate, develop and ultimately execute on delivering the Actuarial team's responsibilities of improving financial reporting, ALM, capital management, as well as providing pricing actuarial advice.

It is strongly preferred that you will relocate to Bermuda towards the later half of 2025. The assignment is expected to last 3 years.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Development and delivery of monthly financial reporting including an analysis of profit, capital reporting and ALM reporting
  • Enhancing governance of financial reporting to ensure quality and accuracy of results
  • Delivery of capital management initiatives within DLRB
  • Reviewing pricing and terms of new reinsurance treaties and changes to existing treaties
  • Providing actuarial support to the broader business to assist with various initiatives and opportunities that may arise
  • A high level of liaison with DLHD's Actuarial and Financial Planning Unit

Qualifications

- Strong Knowledge of Life Insurance Capital and Valuation
- Ability to work independently and use initiative to source and apply underlying data information for analysis
- Ability to develop strong relationships within DLRB and DLHD
- Strong Financial modelling experience
- Strong analytical thinking skills and fast adaptability
- Strong ability to communicate and to articulate complex concepts
- Strong understanding of financial and operational risk management
- Time management and prioritisation skills essential
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve complex issues
- Attention to detail
- Strong initiative, in particular with respect to developing new ideas and concepts for practical application
- Experience in Risk Agility FM or other actuarial software considered an advantage
- Qualified Actuary
