About the role

As an Agency Development Manager,  you will be responsible for the ongoing day-to-day execution of the Agency's Investment strategy for Australia. In this role, you will report to the Head of Advertising Sales in Australia and collaborate closely with the entire Netflix Sales team. You will also have ownership of relationships with senior-level Investment leaders at both Agency Holdco teams and Independent agencies/key external stakeholders. You will maintain a regular meeting cadence, connections, and business reviews and foster significant cross-agency relationships with all major Australian Agency groups.

You will be accountable for delivering on revenue targets by negotiating and executing material volume and upfront Agency group advertising deals for our Australia business.  You will be responsible for ensuring the execution and ongoing tracking of the Agency deals/commitments for each major Agency. 

The role will also be a focal point for driving the necessary internal developments to ensure our success. Cross-functional collaboration with the Ad Product, Finance and strategy, and Ad Marketing teams will also be crucial.

Requirements

This individual will be expected to demonstrate a deep understanding and expertise of Australian  agency structures, linear TV ecosystem, streaming video and the needs of their agency partners. A strong record of TV advertising trading, negotiation and deal-making will be necessary. This individual will need to have an actual track record of striking TV broadcast/SVOD advertising deals in Australia and understand the mechanics and frameworks involved. By definition this person will also have deep relationships with the Heads of Investment and Chief Investment Officers both at HoldCo Agency Independent agency  team levels. The ability to pick up and initiate these crucial Ad investment conversations and have credibility with the most senior Agency side stakeholders will be crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership in developing and executing Agency focused sales for Australia to deliver revenue targets and exceed Agency partner expectations

  • Negotiate, manage and maintain Agency Group upfront advertising deals, Agency trading deals and all major agency-level deals for Netflix Advertising - across all major Australian  agencies 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all major Agency Holding groups and related Operating Company Agencies to secure ad partnerships and increase the share of investment

  • Develop high-level sales ‘go to market’ strategy for the overall Australian Agency Account portfolio 

  • Leverage Netflix's unique audience insights and premium content offerings to drive revenue growth

  • Work in partnership with internal Sales, Finance & Strategy teams to develop the investment approach

  • Monitor market trends, and competitor activity and identify opportunities for innovation

We’re Looking for:

  • At least 12 years of experience in advertising (incl. sales) with a proven track record of delivering revenue growth.

  • At least 5 years of experience leading Agency sales & negotiations at the Group level

  • Previous experience in TV Advertising trading is required

  • Deep understanding of the Media Agencies/Holding Companies in Australia

  • An established network of relationships at the senior level,  in particular with Agency Heads of Investment.

  • Strong analytical (strategic and creative) capabilities and judgment.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively cross‐functionally.

  • Open to the challenge of starting a new business, comfortable with risk, uncertainty and ambiguity
