Join Us at a Defining Moment

At Intelligen, we're building something different. Over the past three years, we've evolved from a bold startup to a trusted partner for some of Australia's most complex data, AI and governance transformations. We've helped organisations modernise data platforms, embed governance into decision-making, and enable responsible AI that delivers measurable business outcomes.

As organisations accelerate their adoption of AI, many are discovering that technology alone isn't enough. Success requires the right governance, operating model, architecture and controls to ensure AI can be trusted, scaled and sustained.

That's why we've developed our AI Centre of Enablement, helping organisations move beyond isolated AI experimentation to establish practical, enterprise-wide AI capability. We work with clients to put the right data, governance and architectural foundations in place so they can adopt AI confidently, responsibly and at scale.

As our Data, AI and Governance practice continues to grow, we're looking for talented professionals who are passionate about helping organisations unlock the full value of AI through practical governance and trusted delivery.

About the Role

As an AI Governance Lead, you will help organisations establish the governance foundations needed to adopt AI safely, responsibly and at scale. Working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, architects and AI specialists, you'll ensure AI initiatives are supported by practical governance, clear decision-making and fit-for-purpose risk controls.

This is a client-facing consulting role that combines governance expertise with strategic advisory and hands-on delivery. You'll help clients develop governance frameworks, responsible AI principles and operating models that enable innovation while managing risk, without creating unnecessary complexity.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with clients to establish practical AI governance frameworks, operating models and decision-making processes.
  • Assess AI use cases to identify governance, privacy, security, ethical and regulatory considerations.
  • Develop responsible AI principles, governance guardrails and risk assessment approaches that support business outcomes.
  • Work with solution architects and AI specialists to embed governance into AI solution design and delivery.
  • Provide guidance on AI risk, model governance, data governance and compliance considerations.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to build understanding of responsible AI practices.
  • Develop governance artefacts including governance frameworks, decision pathways, risk assessments and operating model documentation.
  • Help organisations balance innovation with appropriate governance and controls.
  • Support the development of scalable AI governance capabilities that can mature over time.
  • Contribute to proposals, thought leadership and the continued growth of Intelligen's AI and Governance practice.

Requirements
  • 7+ years' experience in AI governance, data governance, technology risk, responsible AI, model risk, compliance or related governance disciplines.
  • 3+ years' experience working across AI, analytics, automation, digital transformation or emerging technology initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience assessing AI, data or technology initiatives for governance, risk, value and implementation readiness.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI principles, AI governance frameworks, data governance and emerging regulatory expectations.
  • Experience working across business, technology, data, security, risk and compliance stakeholders.
  • Ability to apply governance pragmatically, balancing innovation, delivery speed and risk management.
  • Strong consulting and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate governance concepts in practical business language.
  • Experience developing governance frameworks, control models, policies, decision pathways and operating model documentation.
  • Exposure to data architecture, privacy, cybersecurity or AI lifecycle management would be highly regarded.
  • Experience working within financial services or other regulated industries would be advantageous.
  • Previous client-facing consulting experience is highly desirable.

Benefits

We’re not just delivering AI and data projects, we’re humanising them. That means we care deeply about the how, not just the what. We value curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to challenge the status quo. We look for people who are driven to build a business, get curious, and offer up their opinions and ideas.

As well as:

  • Work From Home - Flexible hours
  • Training & Development
  • Free Food & Snacks
  • Many socials and community groups
  • Opportunity to drive projects that are of interest to you!

You’ll join a team that’s smart, kind, and ambitious. You’ll have real influence - in your projects, your practice, and the broader business. And as we grow, so will you.
