The Alpha Control Framework platform monitors business and data events across State Street and CRD platforms, providing transparency and enforcing business controls throughout the client data management lifecycle; ultimately ensuring the highest data quality standards are met as part of our Alpha Data Services offering. The Control Framework is composed of several software components that have been developed to eliminate manual processing, reduce operational risk and engender confidence from our clients in the quality and completeness of their data.
Alpha Data Services is seeking a versatile, self-motivated individual with strong data management/data analysis skills, LEAN experience and data operations experience to partner with business stakeholders and IT colleagues on the expansion of Alpha Data Services control framework managed data services offering. The successful candidate must be inquisitive, have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, demonstrate an ability to liaise between operational, implementation and technology teams, and be able to build consensus on successful project outcomes.
Job Description & Core Responsibilities:
- Gain a solid understanding of the Alpha Data Services offerings, including content types, data flows and relationships within the Alpha Data Warehouse
- Organize and conduct interview sessions with Product Subject Matter Experts to understand data flows and gaps or risks associated to various data management toolsets
- Build an understanding of functional components within Alpha Data Platform and user interaction models, applying that knowledge to different methods in which operational controls can be introduced or expanded
- Actively participate and moderate (as needed) business requirements elaboration, control design and data service operationalization strategy sessions
- Develop effective working relationships with operational teams, IT product development teams and business partners across the organization to influence change
- Collaborate with various teams to understand the usage of third-party tools
- Perform demos of Alpha Data Services Control Framework components to Client and Onboarding teams and be able to speak to planned functional enhancements
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting, Finance, MIS, Information Technology or related field of study
- Minimum 6 years’ experience with SQL, enterprise data warehousing and data management projects
- Minimum 4 years’ experience working with Back Office Accounting, Investment Accounting or leading Market Data provider data sets (Securities, Indices)
- 3-4 years’ experience applying LEAN, AGILE or other SDLC core principles to application development projects and rollout strategies
- Strong exposure and interest to learn about BI/reporting tool architecture, functions, and features
- Demonstrated excellence in business writing and business process analysis
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills; capable of influencing courageously at all levels of the organization
- Inclination and courage to proactively seek information and understand the operational and data aspects of the business
- Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills; able to independently troubleshoot and gather supporting evidence
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Accountable and able to effectively prioritize when managing multiple requirements and time-driven goals
- Team oriented and capable of working in a global setting
- Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
