Job Description

This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-performing and highly collaborative Responsible Investments (RI) team for a universal owner and long-term investor across global markets.

The analyst will play an important role in supporting the implementation of Rest's responsible investment approach, including integrating the material environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into investment decisions and supporting the general exclusions process. This role will operate at the intersection of sustainability and financial materiality across listed asset classes, including equities and fixed income.

  • Assist with ESG data analysis, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring across a range of investment strategies.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of responsible investment tools, frameworks, and processes to inform investment portfolio monitoring and decision-making.
  • Assist with the research, measurement, monitoring, analysis, and reporting on ESG and climate-related data, trends, metrics and targets, including the whole of Fund exclusions and enhanced Sustainable Growth option criteria
  • Assist with the annual review, updating or uplifting of strategy, policies, protocols, and risk standards; draft relevant sections for reports, disclosures and other communications.
  • Assist with the development of responsible investment questionnaires and disclosures that require internal coordination, e.g. RIAA, PRI, SuperRatings
  • Coordinate and draft responses for external disclosures and communications, including preparation for assurance and audit activities.
  • Enhance skills and knowledge of relevant industry standards, guidance and initiatives to improve capabilities internal and external to the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Economics, Applied Finance, Environmental Science, Engineering or similar.
  • ESG certifications and/or sustainability qualifications highly regarded.

Required experience, understanding or credentials including:

  • Demonstrated work experience in a similar sustainability, responsible investment, financial services, consulting, or business role.
  • Strong business acumen and familiarity with listed equities and/or fixed income.
  • Working knowledge of ESG metrics, disclosure standards, reporting frameworks, sector benchmarks, and performance indices relating to responsible investment and sustainability (e.g., UN PRI, ISSB, PCAF).
