Job Description

What you do

Your role will perform a range of engineering and analytics tasks as part of a cross-functional data and insights team. Day to day, you will:

  • Analyse data, looking for patterns and correlations, mapping out customer journeys and deriving new insights
  • Partner closely with one of our business domains, becoming a Subject Matter Expert in their data and training them in how to use it
  • Create new data models, transformations, and visualisations, with a focus on driving self-service and data literacy for our business users
  • Work within a wider engineering and insights team, adopting and contributing to best practices for data modelling, transformation, and analysis
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to diagnose and resolve any production issues which arise, turning resolutions into repeatable patterns which can be used to drive continuous improvement to our systems and processes

 

Qualifications

What you bring

  • At least 2 years’ experience in Python, SQL, Cloud Data Warehousing, and Data Visualisation
  • A proven track record of delivering high quality insights to business stakeholders, and driving data-based decisioning
  • Experience with working across engineering and insights teams to implement and maintain production solutions
  • Previous exposure to event-based data sources and near real-time analytics
  • Curiosity for exploring, interpreting, and understanding data

Good to have

  • Previous domain experience in the Financial Services industry
  • Experience with BigQuery, Looker Studio, Mixpanel, or DBT
  • Familiarity with the One Big Table (OBT) design pattern
  • Knowledge and expertise in predictive analytics, machine learning, or artificial intelligence
  • Previous experience operating in an agile development team which uses Kanban methodology
