Summary
The Financial Controller ANZ will have a broad range of responsibilities controlling all aspects of corporate accounting and accounting operations, financial reporting, internal control and business partnering activities for Australia and New Zealand.
This position will be directly reporting to Europe & Pacific Developed Markets (EPDM) Financial Controller.
Key responsibilities

  • Support and drive the timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual close. Stay on top of the reporting process, monitor adherence to close calendar. Timely communication and resolution of issues. Accountable for ensuring the books are closed and consolidated accurately across the region in accordance with the applicable policies and procedures.
  • Align with Commercial Finance Team and Supply Chain Finance team understanding their reporting outputs and requirements.
  • Review, analyze and report the key financial drivers of P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow. Provide valuable financial insights of the region's business and develop strategies to achieve region targeted goals and objectives.
  • Participate in the review of financial performance and provide relevant input as to the health of the financial statements and contribute to ensure that the region delivers agreed financial commitments.
  • Oversee and manage all accounting operations related to procure to pay, order to cash and record to report processes for the region.
  • Facilitate effective communication of regional risk assessment process related to financial statement assertions, processes and controls. Timely analysis, communication, mitigation and resolution of risks and issues across the region.
  • Drive Balance Sheet reviews and effective management of balance sheets to ensure integrity, full understanding of assets & liabilities and provide transparency of accounting records.
  • Responsible for all fiscal reporting requirements, most importantly statutory accounts, ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with auditing firms to ensure proper compliance with all internal and external regulations and timely completion of statutory audits. Work with the tax function to monitor tax filings in all jurisdiction in the region.
  • Implement internal and financial control, including standardization of policies and procedures, analysis, reporting, etc. Perform internal control duties and take initiatives to improve the relevant business processes and to enhance internal controls
  • Responsible for dealing with relevant government authorities from accounting, statutory audits and statistics perspective.
  • Working closely with CFO and the Executive Leadership Team to implement and drive on-going improvements in the business


About you

  • Qualified accountant with at least 10 years commercial and financial managerial experience in Big 4 and/or FMCG.
  • Solid working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, Tax principles and Internal Controls.
  • Solid working experience and knowledge of ERP and BI tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong ability to influence senior key regional stakeholders and strong collaborative skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and possess a compelling 'story telling' presentation skills.
  • Team player with exceptional work ethic and a positive attitude "can do" mind-set and acting with sense of urgency to follow through on both operational and organizational issues.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory accounting / tax regulation.
  • Energetic and driven with a pragmatic attitude and high motivation for personal career development.
  • Strong Leadership / Self-starter / Risk Taker / Results oriented.
  • University degree.
  • Manufacturing industry (FMCG is preferred) experience is an advantage.
  • Experience in working with oversees the head office.
