As a Principal Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms, you provide expertise to enhance and develop architecture platforms based on modern cloud-based technologies, as well as support the adoption of strategic global solutions. Leverage your advanced architecture capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes.
Job responsibilities
- Knowledge of infrastructure products, Platform as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service, networks, firewalls, storage, data center management, etc.
- Demonstrable influencing skills that can create a culture of change, excellence and innovation which constructively challenges the status quo and leads to prudent implementation
- Creating effective partnerships, cooperating with clients, leaders across our business, and application architects to define technology and architecture roadmaps
- Providing strategic and tactical direction to the product teams. Creating technology roadmaps, making assertions about technology direction and determining their consequence for the technical strategy and hence the architectural approach. Working with product leads to communicate technical direction to the wider technology community
- Ability to establish, maintain, and communicate a technology vision, building a critical mass of support at all levels of the organization and across departments for a given technical direction through talks, papers, workshops, or interpersonal communication
- Participating in major technical decisions, developing technical proposals that consider the alternatives and business case, and works effectively across departmental organizations gaining the consensus of stakeholders
- Possessing and maintaining a strong working knowledge of multi-platform technical environments. Serve as a leader, consultant, mentor, or tutor in technical architecture areas of expertise to staff
- Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills, including ability to negotiate compromise and demonstrate diplomacy in sensitive situations as well as interact effectively with peers and management across diverse cultures and fast-paced environment
- Strategic thinking and passion for business strategy and business processes
- Technical depth and ability to rapidly understand and communicate the impact of solutions and technology
- Lead a small and team of Solutions Architects to deliver high quality architecture solutions
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure architecture principles and 5+ years applied experience
- Minimum 5 years of system design experience
- Experience in risk and risk control compliance
- Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
- Experience in cloud-native systems architecture or engineering, including system design reviews
- Experience collaborating with business representatives to understand requirements and collaborating with system architects and developers to ensure successful design
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s), applications, and architecture
- Advanced knowledge of software architecture, applications, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Ability to understand technology in the context of the business strategy
- Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to select or recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF, or similar.
- In-depth understanding of security best practices and regulatory requirements, particularly within the APAC region.
- Strong understanding of financial services industry trends, regulatory requirements, and the competitive landscape within the APAC region
