Head Of Policy APAC
Adyen delivers the payments, data, and financial products that power the world's fastest-growing businesses. We build both the infrastructure and the intelligence to move money seamlessly across markets, channels, and platforms. We operate at the intersection of global commerce and complex regulation, making credible policy engagement essential to growth and resilience.
We are looking for a Head Of Policy APAC to develop and drive Adyen's policy engagement across APAC. This is a senior, externally facing role focused on advancing policy outcomes that make it easier to transact globally, simplify payments and financial products for our customers, and keep the ecosystem safe and sound. You will pair strong business instincts with deep regulatory relationships, turning technical realities into credible policy — and policy direction into product opportunity.
What you'll do
- Own the APAC policy agenda. Drive the regional priorities that enable cross-border commerce, reduce friction in payments and banking, and strengthen ecosystem resilience — delivering this through high-quality consultations, submissions, and briefings that move outcomes forward.
- Connect policy and product. Translate regulatory change into product opportunity and risk. Advance our product roadmaps by shaping practical, workable policy outcomes.
- Lead senior regulatory engagement. Maintain trusted relationships with key regulators, central banks, and policymakers across APAC. Represent Adyen in high-stakes forums with sound judgment and credibility.
- Build thought leadership and coalitions. Strengthen Adyen's voice with industry groups and ecosystem partners. Advance a pragmatic agenda that supports innovation and strong safeguards.
- Enable customer participation. Create targeted opportunities for merchants and platforms to engage in policy discussions through briefings, roundtables, and aligned advocacy.
- Partner across the business. Work closely with Product, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Commercial, and Communications to align priorities and translate policy into clear business action.
Who you are
- 8+ years in payments, financial services, fintech, or public policy, with deep APAC expertise
- Strategic vision of where the APAC region is heading
- Strong senior-level relationships with regulators and policymakers across Adyen's key APAC markets, including Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore
- Fluent in payments and financial services business models, merchant needs, and product tradeoffs
- Skilled at translating technical requirements into clear, defensible policy positions and communicating those to both internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce strong submissions, briefs, and narratives
- Pragmatic and outcomes-driven, with sharp judgment and strong credibility
- Aligned with the Adyen Formula: you take ownership, work as one team, seek clarity, and deliver excellence
What's in it for you
- A senior role shaping how modern payments policy evolves across APAC markets
- Direct influence on regulatory outcomes that matter for global commerce and the future of payments
- A seat at the table with senior leaders across product, risk, and commercial teams — translating policy into growth, resilience, and customer value
