Job DescriptionIn this client-facing consulting role, you will join our team to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade API and cloud solutions. We are seeking an experienced engineer to champion the architecture of API management strategies using the Apigee platform, while simultaneously managing robust cloud infrastructure across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and AWS. You will act as a technical subject matter expert, translating complex business requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions.
Your core technical responsibilities will focus on designing, developing, and managing secure APIs using the Apigee API Management Platform. Beyond the API layer, you will provision and configure GCP resources, including Compute Engine instances, Cloud Storage buckets, and Cloud SQL databases, while also supporting multi-cloud environments. You will also drive engineering efficiency by implementing containerisation strategies using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring application deployment is streamlined and scalable.
To support rapid and reliable delivery, you will automate deployment processes by building robust CI/CD pipelines and utilising Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. You will proactively monitor the health of APIs and cloud infrastructure, troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and implementing necessary optimisations. As a consultant, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional squads and stay ahead of the curve on the latest trends in API management, cloud computing, and DevOps methodologies to drive continuous innovation for our clients.
Qualifications- Proven experience with Apigee API Management Platform and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services
- Strong understanding of API design, development, and management principles
- Proficiency in containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Scripting skills in languages like Bash, Python, or similar
- Knowledge of cloud architecture and deployment models
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) is preferred
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) is a plus
- Understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible is desirable
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards is advantageous
- Extensive experience in API management and cloud platform engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect, Apigee Certified API Engineer) are preferred
- Experience in the financial services, healthcare, or e-commerce industries would be beneficial
