We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead / Operations Manager with strong leadership capability and deep hands-on expertise across Microsoft enterprise platforms. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day operational management, provide technical leadership to a team of application specialists, and ensure the reliability, security, and performance of critical applications and services for a key client.
 

You will act as the primary technical escalation point while also coordinating service delivery, managing operational processes, and driving continuous improvement across the environment. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills, excellent problem-solving capability, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of Microsoft-based applications and platforms

  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical incidents and outages

  • Oversee incident, problem and change management processes aligned with ITIL practices

  • Ensure services meet SLAs and maintain high reliability, performance and security standards

  • Provide technical oversight across SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, IIS/.NET applications, SQL Server, Windows Server and ADFS

  • Manage, mentor and support a team of technical specialists

  • Coordinate patching, upgrades, deployments and release schedules

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and third-party vendors

  • Ensure environments meet security, compliance and audit requirements

  • Maintain documentation including SOPs, knowledge base articles and CMDB records

  • Identify operational improvements, automation opportunities and ways to reduce technical debt

  • Support lifecycle planning, platform upgrades and environment optimisation

  • Provide on-call support on a rostered basis once established in the role
     

Skills & Experience

  • Ideally 10+ years’ experience in a similar technical leadership or operations role

  • Strong experience across Microsoft enterprise platforms including Windows Server, IIS, .NET, SQL Server, SharePoint (2019/Online), Dynamics CRM, ADFS and certificates

  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation

  • Knowledge of application patching, upgrades and release management

  • Exposure to Tomcat/JDK or OpenText Content Server & OTDS is advantageous

  • Strong troubleshooting capability across Microsoft and COTS platforms

  • Good understanding of ITIL operational processes

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex issues

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver within deadlines

  • Minimum NV1 security clearance required
