The ASIA Environment Engineer will serve as the focal point for environmental matters within RW-ASIA. Responsibilities include ensuring environmental compliance, implementing group strategies and standards, and managing environmental improvement projects. The role also involves assisting with sustainability initiatives and special projects as required.
Job Description
1. Serve as the central Environmental point of contact for RW-ASIA, responsible for:
- Environmental compliance and conformance
- Coordinating and initiating environmental improvements
2. Environmental Compliance and Conformance
- Communicate and implement Group strategy.
- Implement Group standards, identify gaps, and initiate and implement actions to close those gaps.
- Ensure initiatives requiring investments are reflected in the three-year investment plan.
- Implement Group best practices.
- Assist (with the Group) in developing abatement solutions and identifying suppliers, such as scrubber technology for the curing oven at specific Asia plants.
- Conduct environmental measurements using GasMet and DustTrak in RW-SA.
3. Assist the SHE-Sustainability Manager with sustainability and safety improvements.
4. Manage special projects as needed.
Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Environmental Science or Engineering, or equivalent.
2. Minimum three years of experience in the environmental field.
3. Proficient in English.
4. Strong understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
