About the role:

Assistant Accountant

12-Month Fixed Term Contract | Sydney or Perth

RSM is a leading professional services firm with a global presence, known for supporting ambitious organisations and individuals. We are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, reporting to the FP&A Manager.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working across a broad range of finance activities and contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of accounting journals and monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including disbursements, prepayments and fixed assets
  • Maintenance of the Fixed Assets Register
  • Preparation of GST and Corporate Income Tax returns
  • Assisting with year-end statutory accounts and compliance requirements
  • Supporting budgeting processes and ad hoc financial analysis as required

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following experience and attributes:

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or finance role
  • Experience using accounting software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Highly Regarded

  • Management accounting experience

Eligibility to work permanently in Australia, without restrictions is required for this role. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this opportunity.
