The Role:

Do you have a passion for numbers, precision, and supporting financial success? Are you someone who thrives on ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations? Morse Micro is looking for an Assistant Accountant to play a pivotal role in our Finance Team as we continue to scale and grow. In this role, you will support our accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions, and contributing to the overall financial health of Morse Micro.

Responsibilities include:

  • Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations 
  • Maintaining fixed assets registers 
  • Assisting in the preparation of management financial statements and reports
  • Preparing payroll and related tasks for the companies
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies 
  • Collaborating with the finance team on various ad hoc projects
  • Preparing BAS statement and other statutory reports 

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience (experience in tech or start-up environments is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, ) and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with payroll processing is a plus 
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
