What's the role?

Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you will be working in a team responsible for the core finance and tax function. The activities performed by the team ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results, strong control of financial resources and delivery of insights that supports decision making across Plenti.


The role is suited to an individual who is a team player, who is accurate and meticulous with problem solving capabilities and a continuous process improvement mindset.


What will you be doing?

• Performing daily finance activities including but not limited to the management and processing of investor monies, allocation of borrower repayments, uploading bank statements and BPAY files and following-up unreconciled bank transactions

• Preparing daily pay-runs from our core technology platform and uploading payments into the banking systems for processing

• Performing month-end activities for our Retail and Wholesale Lending Platforms

• Booking invoices and bills into the accounting system and completing the bank and GL reconciliations

• Preparing valuation reports for our funding trusts including daily inflow and outflows reporting

• Preparing and posting manual journals into the accounting system for month-end reporting

• Communication and management of provision fund claims

• Processing debt recoveries received from external debt collectors on a timely basis

• Support the NAB car loan product with respect to processing payments and support for bank reconciliations

• Assisting in the preparation of BAS returns

• Assisting the wider finance team on project and ad hoc tasks as required

This role is suited to someone earlier in their finance career, but who wants to work in a dynamic, fast paced and fun environment where they can grow and develop over time – we are a rapidly growing business where everyone’s role and responsibilities keep expanding every month. Key attributes for candidates include:

• Studying towards CA/CPA qualification

• Excellent time management skills

• Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines

• Comfortable managing large volumes of transactions with a high attention to detail

• High degree of self-motivation and willingness to take ownership of tasks and deliver high-quality outcomes

• Continuous development mindset, with confidence to communicate issues and to implement solutions and then follow up

• Advanced Excel skills and ideally some experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Xero or similar

• Flexibility and ability to build strong relationships, operate effectively within cross-functional teams

• Financial services experience in a commercial or chartered accountancy practice

• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast changing environment
