We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Vice President for Financial Control Department, Accounting Section. This role is based in the vibrant city of Hong Kong and offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team within a leading global financial institution. The successful candidate will have the chance to support the IFRS transition project, and will play a crucial role in ensuring adherence to HKMA and other regulatory requirements.

What you'll do:

  • Prepare and manage monthly financial statements including head office reporting
  • Perform variance analysis on financial data
  • Serve as Accounting’s PIC for IFRS transition project
  • Analyze closing/reporting processes, assess change impacts, confirm requirements, and plan IFRS reporting with IT tools/EUC
  • Ensure adherence to HKMA and other regulatory requirements
  • Identify and implement enhancements to reporting and closing processes
  • Leverage knowledge of bank products (e.g. securities, derivatives, loans)
  • Proactively participate in accounting related projects

What you bring:

  • University graduate with accounting or related degree
  • Over 5 years of relevant experience in banking
  • Strong knowledge of bank products including securities, derivatives, loans and deposits
  • Familiarity with IFRS standards
  • Proven ability to manage complex reporting processes and coordinate with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to process improvement
