Convera is seeking an Associate Business Development Manager to drive sales of FX payments products and hedging solutions within our Sydney office. We are looking for tenacious, motivated individuals with a competitive mindset to build a pipeline of Small-to-Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME) and achieve new business revenue by addressing their international payments and hedging needs. 


You will be expected to: 

  • Build a qualified pipeline by attracting new clients through strategic outreach 
  • Achieve and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including revenue targets on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. 
  • Proactively source new business opportunities via cold calls, networking events, referrals, exhibitions, and partnerships. 
  • Qualify inbound leads and identify win-back opportunities from closed or inactive accounts. 
  • Use sales tools such as Salesforce, Highspot, and ZoomInfo to generate leads and create new sales opportunities through email campaigns, cold calls, and other outreach methods. 
  • Manage the full sales cycle up to client onboarding, before transitioning accounts to the Portfolio Account Management team. 
  • Engage and influence decision-makers ranging from start-up founders to directors and C-suite executives. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Salesforce records, including sales diaries and next steps for prospects. 

  

What We Are Looking For: 

  • 2+ years of experience in a proactive sales role, either in Sales Development or Junior Business Development roles. 
  • B2B sales experience, ideally within financial services or fintech. 
  • Demonstrated success in consultative selling, corporate negotiations, and customer acquisition through channels such as networking events, trade fairs, and cold calling. 
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding KPIs and/Or revenue targets. 
  • Preferred but not necessary - experience in FX (e.g., understanding of financial markets and instruments such as Spot and Forwards) or payments (e.g., knowledge of the payments and technology landscape). 
  • You MUST have permanent working rights in Australia to be considered for this role
