How you'll make an impact

As an Associate Data Scientist at AMP, you’ll play a hands‑on role in turning data into insight that genuinely informs decision‑making across the organisation. Working within the Data Platforms team, you’ll support the development of analytical and data science solutions that help teams better understand customers, performance, and risk. Through close collaboration with Data Engineers, Reporting & Insights specialists, and data governance partners, you’ll help ensure AMP’s enterprise data is analysed thoughtfully, responsibly, and with purpose.

This role offers meaningful exposure to real‑world analytics and modelling use cases. You’ll contribute to exploratory data analysis, assist in building and validating statistical and machine‑learning models, and help translate analytical outputs into clear, usable insights. Your work will directly support high‑quality reporting and analytics outcomes, while building the foundational skills that underpin AMP’s growing data science capability.

What you'll bring to the role

You’ll bring a strong analytical mindset and a genuine curiosity about how data can be used to solve business problems. With experience working with structured datasets in enterprise environments, you’re comfortable using SQL to explore and analyse data, and Python or R to support modelling and feature engineering. You understand the importance of data quality, governance, and documentation, and you approach analysis with care, rigour, and attention to detail.

Equally important is your ability to collaborate and communicate. You’re able to explain analytical findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, and you enjoy working as part of a cross‑functional team. With experience in Agile or iterative delivery environments, you’re keen to keep learning, take feedback on board, and continue developing your data science capability in a practical, applied setting.
