The Opportunity

The Associate Legal Counsel will be based in Sydney, Australia to provide legal support for Adobe’s operations across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). This role reports to the Senior Managing Counsel, APAC.

The primary responsibility is to act as a trusted advisor to the Sales teams in ANZ, helping to structure and close deals by applying sound legal judgment and practical, ethical business advice. This includes reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements, such as enterprise licensing agreements (covering both on-premise software and cloud services), reseller and distributor contracts, and professional services engagements.

What you'll do

  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments in ANZ, ensuring Adobe’s agreements and practices remain compliant and up to date.

  • Assisting with privacy, data protection, and AI-related legal matters, including reviewing and negotiating relevant terms in customer agreements.

  • Supporting procurement and vendor contracting, in line with Adobe’s policies and legal requirements.

  • Contributing to global and regional legal initiatives and process improvement projects, working cross-functionally with internal partners across Legal, Sales, and other teams.

  • Performing other legal duties as required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Legal practitioner in Australia with about 3 - 5 years of post-qualification experience.

  • Experience in technology licensing contracts, intellectual property law, and privacy is a plus. Alternatively, a strong interest and demonstrated proficiency in these areas.

  • Demonstrates the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity.

  • A proactive, creative self-starter with strong initiative and a solutions-focused attitude. Applies good judgment and a pragmatic, commercial approach to advance business goals.

  • Collaborative teammate with excellent interpersonal, communication, and business partner management skills. Thrives in a global, multicultural environment.

  • Demonstrates strong legal drafting abilities and pays close attention to detail in contract negotiation.

  • Excellent written and oral English skills
