JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News is looking for a creative, organized, motivated Associate Producer to join our Washington D.C Bureau.  The Associate Producer will be responsible for working with reporters to gather video and audio elements, obtain information, and deliver compelling live shots. You must be willing to get the latest elements into your live shots and move content forward.  The Associate Producer has strong editorial and logistical skills, as well as a natural curiosity of news.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Find the key elements that drive stories forward, log events, and track news developments

  • Be well-read and up to date on Washington-based and political stories, ensuring you are always ahead of the curve

  • Assist reporters in setting up studio and zoom interviews, asking critical questions, and gathering the information needed to craft and produce impactful live shots

  • Monitor wires, social media, and other broadcast networks to identify and flag breaking developments as they happen

  • Work closely with our D.C. and New York-based shows to ensure Fox provides editorially and visually compelling live shots that captivate viewers

  • Develop ideas for D.C. bureau coverage that inform, educate, and inspire Fox’s audience

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

  • 2 years of television news experience

  • Experience producing reporter live shots

  • Strong logistical, editorial, and communication skills

  • Knowledge of national and international news

  • Familiarity with the various D.C. government agencies

  • Keen understanding of how to set up interviews and gather news

  • Being a self-starter who can work independently, as well as a team player

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize daily, especially in breaking news situations

  • Familiarity with iNews, Outlook and Dalet systems is a plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $67,000.00-70,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
