The Role
YouGov is looking for a commercially minded Associate Research Manager to join our syndicated research team. Reporting into the Research Manager (AU), you'll own a portfolio of brand and agency clients with a high degree of autonomy — responsible not just for the quality of the insight we deliver, but for the commercial health and growth of your accounts.
The role combines client servicing, product expertise, data analysis to ensure clients derive maximum value from YouGov's syndicated solutions while identifying opportunities for account growth. The role spans a range of sectors — finance & banking, QSR, Travel & Tourism and more — and sits at the intersection of research craft, client relationships, and revenue.
What you'll be delivering
Client Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for your portfolio of existing clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and engagement, measured through retention and account growth, not just delivery.
Account growth and retention: you own renewals, identify expansion and upsell opportunities, and protect revenue across your portfolio through proactive account management
Build and maintain strong client relationships through client consultation, onboarding workshops and training that embed our products into how clients make decisions
Ensure clients are effectively using YouGov platforms and data solutions.
Product Expertise Demos & Training
Develop deep expertise across YouGov's Data Products especially AI-powered capabilities and emerging product features.
Deliver product demonstrations, onboarding sessions, and refresher training to clients and prospects.
Translate technical product features into clear business benefits for clients.
Partner with the New Business team to deliver engaging demos of the company’s research platforms, data tools, and syndicated solutions
Data Analysis & Insights
Support the preparation of client presentations, reports, and insight summaries.
Analyze data and identify key trends, opportunities, and business implications.
Ensure accuracy and quality of all client deliverables.
What's in it for you
The chance to work on flagship clients across multiple sectors at a point of exponential growth — with genuine ownership of your accounts' commercial trajectory, not just their reporting. You will have the full spectrum of YouGov's leading-edge products at your disposal, backed by an experienced director and the global research business behind you.
What you'll bring
Essential
4+ years in consumer insights and research, including hands-on experience with syndicated, tracking, or continuous research data (not ad-hoc/custom only)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
Demonstrated commercial acumen: a track record of retaining and growing client accounts, identifying expansion opportunities, and treating account health as a revenue responsibility
Strong data fluency — comfortable manipulating, interrogating and quality-checking large datasets (advanced Excel and cross-tabulation; familiarity dashboarding/data-viz platforms is an advantage)
Able to work independently, demonstrating initiative, ownership, and sound judgement in day-to-day decision-making.
Preferred
Experience in a syndicated research environment specifically (brand tracking, market measurement, segmentation studies)
Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at different levels.
Behavioural competencies
Commercially curious — instinctively looks for the growth angle and the client's business problem behind the brief
A confident communicator who can hold the room with senior stakeholders
Strong client and stakeholder management
Additional information
This is an opportunity to join a close-knit, ambitious team, in a role with real commercial ownership and room to grow. It will suit an established research professional who wants to combine deep data craft with accountability for client growth — and to build something as the business scales.
