We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Lead to join the Functional Testing team in Payments Settlements department. The Department is responsible for the ongoing development and smooth operation of Reserve Bank Information and Transfer System (RITS) and the Fast Settlement Service (FSS), the day-to-day management of Exchange Settlement Accounts, and back-office settlement of transactions arising from the Bank's open market operations and reserves management trades. The Department also provides a low-value clearing service to payments system participants for the exchange of cheque and direct entry payment files. This is for a fixed-term engagement ending December 2026.
About the role
- Demonstrate high proficiency in the technical analysis of applied automation for testing complex and integrated business domains aimed at minimising risk while achieving high levels of quality in the most efficient manner.
- Plan and execute automated functional testing related deliverables across various test levels.
- Develop and maintain testing artefacts including progress reporting, as appropriate.
- Ensure consistent application of testing standards, practices, processes and tools.
- Work with the team to drive quality improvements particularly in the testing space, to ensure a consistent approach to testing and to foster a quality mindset.
- Deliver project quality and contribute to system enhancements for improving system usability and business experience.
- Participate in the upkeep of UAT test environments to ensure high availability and in the prompt validation of OS/Security/Application patches applied to UAT test environments when required.
- Improve test automation footprint across applications, test types and test levels by improving coverage (and quality of coverage) of automated regression and progression tests
About you
- Extensive experience and high proficiency in automation using Selenium-Java, including proven successful delivery of test automation frameworks, scripts and tools.
- With an overall eight years of experience in test automation.
- Experience in Cucumber - Serenity framework and testing APIs is highly desirable.
- Solid hands-on experience in using build tools (e.g., Maven), source control management tools (e.g. Git Lab, SVN, etc) and continuous integration tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc) in support of automation.
- Proven experience in planning, support and testing of functional changes to mission critical systems.
- Experience in payment, clearing and settlement systems and associated industry is desirable.
- Knowledge and experience working with Waterfall and/or Agile project methodology, as well as Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery processes.
- Experience in working with defect and test management tools such as JIRA, ALM, Qmetry, etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence, collaborate and communicate with team and key stakeholders.
- Degree in IT, business, finance or other relevant discipline.
