The Bid Specialist underpins the sustainability and growth of the EML Group through the delivery of high-quality bid responses and value propositions to support EML’s strategic growth objectives. The Bid Specialist is a key role within Strategy and Growth Client Solutions Team, supporting our organisational objectives to achieve strategic growth of our core business and diversification into new markets.
This role’s key responsibility is bid and proposal development, involving the research, planning and production of high quality written content for procurement, research and value proposition opportunities.
The role also supports the end to end bid process, including preparation, response development, submission and presentation across formats such as RFTs, RFPs, RFIs, EOIs, RFQs, capability statements and tailored value propositions.
In addition, the role coordinates and sources market information, develops briefs to support strategic growth, and manages the project coordination of bid and value proposition opportunities to ensure responses are delivered on time and to a high standard.
This will be a full-time, 12 month secondment/max term contract position based in our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office, with flexibility to work from home 3 days per week once you complete training.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research, plan, and produce high-quality written responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Tender (RFTs), Expressions of Interest (EOIs), other procurement documents, research documents and other growth opportunities.
- Translate complex technical, commercial, and operational content into clear, persuasive, and compliant responses
- Support the end-to-end bid process, including pre-bid preparation, bid project management, content writing and editing, document production and submission and post-bid activities.
- Ensure all submissions are fully compliant with EML policies, along with response requirements, tailored appropriately to the opportunity and meet bid deadlines.
- Lead and support the development of presentations for new business opportunities.
- Development of bid content and documentation to support, monitor and assess progress.
- Utilise bid management tools to support, monitor and assess progress.
- Work with the Design & Implementation Team and Executive and/or Senior Leadership team to document new service models and approaches in response to emerging opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation. Maintain awareness of industry developments and trends and respond effectively to changes.
- Negotiate terms with internal stakeholders to ensure high quality service and delivery.
- Initiate and facilitate meetings and forums as required to assist with bid outcomes and growth opportunities
- Ensure strategic alignment of objectives and adequacy of controls, systems, processes, and reporting capability to support the organisation’s growth and efficiency.
ABOUT YOU
- Demonstrated ability to produce compelling written content, documents, and presentations.
- 3 to 5 years demonstrated experience in roles within workers’ compensation or other personal injury insurance lines
- Experience in end to end bid management (preferred) or exposure to bid management
- Working within in in a fast-paced business environment, able to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
- Demonstrated experience in project management
- Minimum intermediate proficiency in Microsoft office suite
