Job Description

We are seeking a Biometrics SME to join our Sydney/Canberra Consulting team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the development and enhancement of Biometrics products. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including end-users, engineering, architects, and the business portfolios, you will contribute to the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch and beyond. You will join a small, dedicated Biometrics COE team focusing on identity and biometric related strategies, roadmaps, and tasks.

You will provide expert advice on solutions to complex problems, developing alternative approaches to planning, design, and challenges. Evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies for potential application to customer challenges. Troubleshoot complex problems and conduct technical reviews to verify objectives are being met across project portfolios. Perform technical writing for contract documentation. You will support the development and maintenance of biometric strategy and growth priorities.

You will also be involved in testing of biometric technologies on historical image data, tabulating results, and presenting findings to senior management and customers. You will analyze biometric matching outcomes and provide advice, strategies, and roadmaps for improvement. 

Moreover you will develop biometric strategies and value propositions for the team, cultivate and maintain key customer relationships through to representing our end client at relevant forums like industry events, standards meetings, conferences, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with signifanct years of relevant experience or a Masters/Doctorate degree in Biometrics with 5-8 years relevant experience.
  • Experience working with Biometrics and Identity solutions, specifically in the Government sector.
  • Experience interacting with operationally focused customers.
  • Proven track record in delivering innovative identity and biometric solutions.
  • Strong customer knowledge and networking relationships.
  • Background in developing solutions to planning, design, and engineering issues.
  • Ability to interpret business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Experience working in virtual environments and achieving results through indirect teams.
  • Superior oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (domestic and international).
  • Knowledge of International Standards (SC37 Biometrics and SC17 Identity documents).
  • Project Management certification or experience.
