Corporate - Energy & Resources Lawyer (3+ PQE)

We are seeking a remarkable Lawyer to join our thriving Corporate Energy & Resources Brisbane practice.

Clayton Utz boasts Australia's largest specialty Corporate, Energy and Resources and Native Title practice. This role will provide you with exposure to some of Australia's most high-profile M&A matters and energy projects.  

Working with our market-leading energy and resources team, Emma Covacevich, Ben Cansdale, Stuart MacGregor, Mark Geritz and Katy Warner, you will work with a varied portfolio of major clients. The work will include cross border M&A and project development in the mining, gas, green infrastructure and clean energy areas (including pumped hydro, wind and solar generation, battery storage and hydrogen projects) and associated infrastructure and rail projects.


Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have;

  • Minimum 3+ PQE years
  • Experience as a highly regarded corporate M&A, commercial or regulatory lawyer
  • Experience in the Energy and Resources industry, ideally in regard to clean energy, electricity, mining/commodities or oil and gas marketing, transportation, processing and joint venture arrangements
  • Strong people skills; the ability to communicate and build a rapport with our clients
  • A willingness and desire to commit to potential client secondments to leading energy and resources clients
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate with impact to both internal contacts and external clients
  • A team player with strong time and project management skills
  • In addition to this, we're looking for a driven, self-starter; someone who is able to work autonomously and is focused on attention to detail and providing an outstanding service to their clients
