Job Description

The Business Data Analyst supports the Finance Data Management and Quality Assurance team in driving data initiatives that enhance the design, management, and quality of Finance data. The role involves collaborating with Finance and Technology stakeholders to deliver accurate reporting, analytics, and data governance outcomes that contribute to Finance’s overall success.

  • Assess the impact of business or system changes on Finance data structures and reporting.

  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to monitor and communicate data-related issues.

  • Work with Finance, Business, and Technology teams to resolve data issues at their source.

  • Provide accurate and timely data extracts and summaries to support internal reporting processes.

  • Assist the Finance Data Steward and Senior Manager in implementing data governance initiatives to maintain data quality, consistency, and compliance.

  • Help create and manage data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and metadata to support effective data management practices.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.

  • 2–5 years’ experience in data analysis or reporting, preferably in finance or insurance.

  • Skilled in BI and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

  • Strong analytical abilities with a focus on financial and management reporting, and a drive for process improvement.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of turning complex data into actionable business insights.

  • Familiarity with programming and data analysis languages such as SQL, R, Python, Databricks, Spark, or machine learning is preferred.
