Job Description

Join TOMRA Collection Australia as a Business Development Associate and play a key part in growing demand and boosting market awareness for TOMRA Collection Australia across NSW.

You’ll be on the front line of our commercial collections offering by spotting opportunities, starting conversations and driving volume building activity into TOMRA Collection Depots. With short sales cycles and a strong focus on action, this is a hands‑on, sales‑focused role where momentum matters.

A big part of your success will come from building long‑term, trusted relationships with a diverse mix of customers, partners, local governments, charities and community groups. You’ll be helping them see the value in what we do and keep them coming back.

A drivers licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role- You will be travelling around Sydney to canvas focus area's. A motor vehicle allowance will be paid as part of the yearly salary package. 

Some of the duties you may perform include:

  • Generate Business Leads (cold calling/ setting appointments/closing opportunities)
  • Achieve set sales KPI’s.
  • Enter all sales activities, pipeline and customer records into the TOMRA CRM
  • Provide Progress reports to Sales Team Manager
  • Effectively and professionally manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, keeping them well informed and reassured on the progress of all opportunities.
  • Proactively identify and lead the end-end conversion of strategic business development and commercial opportunities to meet business objectives.
  • Contribute to and execute the TOMRA CDS prospect and engagement strategy to maximise the potential of a healthy opportunity pipeline.
  • Evaluate customers’ needs and build productive long-lasting relationships
  • Ensuring commercial terms are in line with business and operational objectives
  • Positively build TOMRA’s profile within NSW through networking and relationships
  • Follow TOMRA SAFE Standards and Guidelines

Qualifications

What makes a great Business Devlopment Associate at TOMRA:

  • Previous experience in Sales/Business Development Role or Retail
  • Self-motivated, resilient, committed & able to take initiative with enthusiasm to deliver business results
  • Proven ability to search out and engage with customers
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Interest in environmental sustainability
  • Experience using a Customer Relationship Management System (Salesforce, Hubspot, etc) desirable but not essential.
