You will support Henning Larsen’s business development activities in Australia, working closely with the Regional Managing Director, Design Director and global business development team.

Job Description

Why we need you

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Coordinator and Bid Manager to join our newly established Australian business based in Sydney. You will play a key part in generating, securing, prioritising, and winning projects to grow Henning Larsen’s position as a leading international architectural firm in Australia. As we grow, we need your expertise to help us secure new opportunities, forge successful partnerships, and drive strategic collaborations.
 

Key Responsibilities

You will work closely with the Regional Director and Design Director in Sydney, supporting the Australian studio to identify, develop and win new business opportunities. Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Overall coordination of all business development activities in Australia.
  • Proactively generate leads and opportunities – Including reviewing relevant tender sites, news, and engaging with a network of collaborators and clients.
  • Lead tender submissions – Independently and collaboratively strategise, coordinate, produce and deliver PQ, EOI, and RFP submissions. Including coordination with external partners, other offices, and competition teams.
  • Assess and develop new opportunities – Ensure new opportunities align with market strategy and brand positioning, make critical recommendations and drive teaming and external collaborations.
  • Pipeline management – Oversee all upcoming and current opportunities and pipeline management, including reporting.
  • Contribute to and implement market strategies – Support creating the strategic direction in Australia and implement go-to-market strategies.
  • Manage stakeholders & partnerships – Work with the Regional Managing Director and Design Director in fostering key relationships.
  • Ownership and maintenance of BD and marketing materials – including updating existing materials and preparing strategic and high-quality materials for outreach and pitches.
  • Liaise and maintain alignment with wider APAC and Global BD teams
  • Support marketing efforts – Coordinate/liaise with the global Communications team to collaborate on campaigns and events, and taking overall responsibility for events in Australia.
  • Business Admin – support other business functions in an agile, start-up environment with global backing.

 

     

     

    Qualifications

    What are we looking for?

    • A proven track record with a minimum of four years in the industry, or in a similar role, specialising in strategic business development and/or marketing/communications, ideally within the design field.
    • A background in architecture or design is preferred, however a background in other sectors including marketing, business, or professional services may also be considered.
    • A strong understanding of the Australian real estate market.
    • A keen eye for graphics, with skills in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign and other graphics packages.
    • Excellent communication skills, fluent in both written and verbal English, with strong copy writing and storytelling capabilities.
    • Strong ability to write concisely and distill key information effectively.
    • Experience in CRM software or similar is a strong preference.
    • A growing network in Australia and strong understanding of the stakeholder environment, including clients, collaborators, and partners.
    • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment—agile, dedicated, and driven by a strong team spirit.
    • An independent and collaborative teammate who can bring a structured approach.
